Daniel and Earlene Vestal
Leadership Scholar Endowment
Honor the Vestals by investing in future Baptist leaders
First two Vestal Scholars, Emily Holladay (left) and Mary Beth Gilbert Foust (right), with Daniel Vestal at the 2012 CBF General Assembly.
In honor of
significant contributions as Cooperative Baptist Fellowship Executive Coordinator (1996-2012), the Fellowship created the Vestal Scholars initiative to cultivate the next generation of Baptist leaders.
Potentially the finest future Baptist leaders enrolled in CBF schools, Vestal Scholars receive significant scholarship support and leadership development opportunities from the Fellowship. What better way to honor the Vestals’ leadership than by helping provide for a legacy of future Baptist leaders? Your gift to the Daniel and Earlene Vestal Leadership Scholar Endowment will ensure a financial foundation exists for generations of Vestal Scholars.
Honoring a Leader
Hearing God’s call at an early age, Vestal became a pastor serving Baptist churches for more than two decades. He was instrumental in founding the Fellowship and in 1996 became its Executive Coordinator, spending the next 16 years shepherding a renewal movement within the Baptist family, casting a vision for missional churches and encouraging Christians to follow God’s call.
Each year, the Fellowship awards scholarships to 70 Leadership Scholars
so that they can follow God’s call to full-time ministry. Today, many
of the more than 1,000 former CBF Scholars now serve as ministers in
CBF partner churches or as CBF field personnel. These men and women
are essential to the future of the Fellowship and Baptist churches.
